Join visiting author Fehmida Zakeer as she discusses her story “Pot of Water” at Heartlands Bookclub. Her story was selected as part of Read! Singapore’s anthology Under One Sky in 2013 which is available at all libraries.

Set in India, the story tells of a poor woman’s search for a pot of water for the day’s cooking. Her frantic attempts to solve her dilemma are met with mostly unsympathetic responses, revealing the indifferent attitudes of the rich towards the poor.
About the author: Fehmida Zakeer lives in India and works as a freelance journalist as well as an Instructional Designer. Her stories and poetry have been featured in many online magazines such as Quarterly Literary Review Singapore, The Linnets Wings, Bewildering Stories, Out of Print, Muse India and Everyday Poets.
