Join us and volunteer at our 2020 askST and Zaobao Happy Read Talks and get up close with our seasoned journalists. askST sessions happening 5pm to 9pm at Central Public Library (31 Jan, 28 Feb, 27 Mar, 24 Apr, 29 May, 26 Jun, 24 Jul, 28 Aug, 25 Sep, 30 Oct, 27 Nov and 18 Dec). Zaobao Happy Read Talks happening 5pm to 9pm at Central Public Library (7 Feb, 6 Mar, 3 Apr, 8 May, 5 Jun, 3 Jul, 7 Aug, 4 Sep, 2 Oct, 6 Nov and 4 Dec).


**Updating of Volunteer Hours** - 7th-Mar-2019 19:10
Dear Friends of Library, thank you very much for volunteering your time with us in NLB :). We would to share that for standardisation across all our Public Libraries, volunteer hours will be updated at END of the month. Hence for February 2019 volunteering activities, volunteer hours will be updated by 8 March 2019 across all Public Libraries. You can view the hours from 11 March onwards. If you need any clarification, please email us at volunteer@nlb.gov.sg. Thank you very much for your understanding.

Bukit Panjang Public Library (Sorting and Shelving of books/ Assistance with library e-services) organised by Bukit Panjang Public Library

We are looking for volunteers to sort, shelve and provide assistance with e-services at the volunteer-run space (Teens and Adult services) of Bukit Panjang Public Library. An on-site training will be provided to our volunteers. Report to the Children section (to sign in and out your attendance) before proceeding to the Teens and Adult section to volunteer. Attire: Smart casual suitable for a chilly environment with covered shoes only. Double volunteering hours will be credited.

Citizen Archivist Project - July 2020 organised by National Archives of Singapore

You are invited to volunteer as a citizen archivist! Play a part in the different tasks such as transcribing handwritten documents or describing uncaptioned photographs to help in increasing the accessibility of our records. The Citizen Archivist Project (CAP) is a digital volunteerism programme that you can make your contributions anytime and anywhere via the CAP portal. There is no fixed timing or minimum number of hours to commit to. Log on to the CAP portal (https://www.nas.gov.sg/CitizenArchivist/) to find out more and start to contribute.

LLibrary: Arrange books on shelf organised by The LLiBrary

Volunteers are needed to arrange and shelfread The LLibrary books. They must be fit and able to transfer books from book trolleys to the shelves. Attire: Smart casual (long pants and covered shoes). Please bring a jacket if you are prone to cold temperature. Venue: Lifelong Learning Institute, #03-02 (via Lift Lobby B), 11 Eunos Road, Singapore 408601. For assistance, pls knock on the staffroom door (beside the New Arrivals book display).
