About the Programme

Kombucha is currently a trending drink but did you know it is made through the age-old process of fermentation? If you are curious to find out more, come to this personal sharing by a home-brewing librarian! Find out about what kombucha is and get tips on how you can make it yourself at home. DIY Kombucha will appeal to those who enjoy experimenting with flavours or simply want the health benefits of a fermented drink at a lower cost.

This programme will feature a step-by-step presentation, and does not involve an actual demo or hands-on workshop. But you will get to meet a real-life SCOBY (gross factor alert 😊)!

About the Speaker

Pearly Ma is a librarian with the National Library Board, where she organises sustainability programmes for seniors. She likes kombucha for its fizz and refreshing flavour and has made over 40 batches to date. She also makes ginger beer, another fantastic fermented home-brew!
