About the Workshop

The Yuan Xiao Festival, marking the end of Chinese New Year celebrations, is a time of vibrant lanterns, sweet tangyuan, and familial joy. For the Peranakan community, this festival offers a unique opportunity to showcase the intricate artistry of beading.

Incorporating the festival’s themes of light and unity, Peranakan beadwork takes inspiration from the glowing lanterns and auspicious patterns of the season - highlighting the Peranakan craftsmanship and creating pieces that are beautiful.

Please note the following:

  • Each ticket admits 1 person only.
  • The workshop is limited to a fixed number of attendees. Please ensure you are able to attend the workshop before registering, or cancel your registration if you are unable to attend.
  • NLB allows a 15-minute grace period from the start of the programme, thereafter we will release seats to walk-ins.
  • NLB reserves the right to deny entry to participants who do not abide by the ground rules.
