Abstract
Sang Pemimpi (The Dreamer) is the sequel to the Indonesian box office mega-hit The Rainbow Troops (Laskar Pelangi). The film is based on Andrea Hirata's wildly popular 'Laskar Pelangi' Quartet, which follows the struggle of Ikal, a boy from the remote island of Belitung off of South Sumatera Province. In the dreamer, the story moves forward to Ikal's high school days in the 1980s. With the presence of two dedicated teachers, Mr. Mustar and Mr. Balia and with the unconditional love of his father, Ikal and his buddies Arai and Jimbron wrestle with love and the road to adulthood.
