Abstract
The story of three residents of an apartment block in Singapore: A lonely hawker desperate for the affections of his materialistic Beijing born wife; a repressed civil servant obsessed with the sexual exploits of his wild teenage sister, and an overweight single woman pushed to the brink by an abusive mother and sniggering neighbors; all lives of hopelessness and frustration. The questions remaining are: Will they find hope? and, can they find redemption?.
