Abstract
Ah Ma is a quiet introspective short on the value of life. A family gathers around their mother and grandmother as she lies on her deathbed. A national serviceman disrupts his training, the extended family and their children take time away from their busy lives see her for the last time. Everyone waits for the inevitable and cope with their emotions in various ways. Some vent their frustrations on others, others berate themselves. Some cope with their grief through public mourning, and others grieve in private. Caught up with their own feelings, the grandmother passes away in the middle of the night with only a young grandson by her side.
