Information About

The Emergency ran from 1948 to 1960 and pitted the Malayan Communist Party against the British colonial government. This video features a tense showdown between a committed leader of the party and a driven Special Branch police inspector. Inspired by a true story, this docudrama stars Jo Tan and Oon Shu An. Abstract
This video features a docudrama on the Malayan Communist Party (MCP)'s female operator nicknamed Mata Hari, who was pursued by the British colonial government during the Malayan Emergency. The docudrama is inspired by a BiblioAsia article written by Senior Librarian Ronnie Tan entitled, "Hunting Down the Malayan Mata Hari". It features an interrogation scene between a female detective of the Special Branch police and Mata Hari.
