Abstract
Get rea! looks at Huang Na's death, the latchkey child from China who went missing and was found murdered. Diana Ser examines the plight of the peidu mamas, or study mamas, women who accompany their children to Singapore to receive education. Peidu mamas face discrimination and stereotyping by being associated with vice and illegal activities. She asks if more support can be given to such foreign families all the time, and not just when tragedy strikes.
