Abstract
Kamil is in love with Fatimah, but his family disapproves of their union because of her social status. Instead, they arrange for him to marry plain Zainon, the daughter of a rich family. Soon after, Kamil is handed the responsibility of caring for a child, Satay, a poor orphan who is raised by his grandfather. Satay longs for a father, and his grandfather decides to give him over to Kamil, who wants nothing to do with him. Unbeknownst to Kamil, Satay may be the key to his getting together with Fatimah.
