Abstract
Qian is under pressure to be just like her elder sister who is a gifted pianist. But the underachiever spends most of her time avoiding hated piano lessons forced upon her by her mother. She thinks she has found the way out of her misery when she learns what poison, death and heaven mean, and chooses to yield herself to these instead when she is cornered by her mother and piano teacher. A lighthearted tale that depicts a microcosm of a competitive and perfomance-oriented community.
