This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Mr. K. Shanmugam, a lawyer by profession and People's Action Party Member of Parliament for Sembawang GRC (Chong Pang) since September 1988. He is a former student of Raffles Institution (1972-1977); Partner (1991) and later Senior Council and Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution at the Singapore law firm Allen & Gledhill (1998-Apr 2008); Member of the Board of Management of the People's Association (Apr 1988-1990); Adviser to the Amalgamated Union of Public Daily Rated Workers (1993); Minister for Law (May 2008-to date) and Home Affairs (2010-to date); Second Minister for Home Affairs (May 2008-2010); and President of the Singapore Indian Development Association (Mar 2002-Mar 2009).
