This photograph depicts the tall minaret of Masjid Al-Mutaqqin or Al-Muttaqin Mosque at 5140, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6. It is the fifth mosque completed under the Mosque Building Fund Scheme. The groundbreaking ceremony of the mosque was officiated by Mr. Syed Ali Redha Alsagoff, Chairman of Lembaga Biasiswa Kenangan Maulud, on 29 April 1979. It was declared open by Mr. Rahmat Kenap, Member of Parliament for Geylang Serai, on 21 September 1980. A new floor was added to make room for preschool classes held between 1987 and 1988. The mosque was further renovated, and a third level was added in 1998. Title devised by Library staff.
