Half-length portrait of Mr. Koh Yong Guan (许永源), Commissioner of Inland Revenue from January 1991 to Mar 1997. He joined the Civil Service as a Biomedical Engineer in the Ministry of Health in 1972 and was absorbed into the Administrative Service in July 1979. He served as Director (Personnel and Administration) for Education; Deputy Secretary (Policy) for Defence (1986-1989); Second Permanent Secretary for Defence (May 1989-Jan 1991) and Health (Jun-Sep 1996); Second Permanent Secretary (Budget and Revenue) for Finance (Apr-Dec 1997); Permanent Secretary for Health (Sep 1996-May 1999) and National Development (Apr-Oct 2001); Board Member (2005-to date) and Managing Director (Jan 1998-Mac 2001, Oct 2001-Jun 2005) of the Monetary Authority of Singapore; Board Member (Apr 2007-to date) and Chairman (Jul 2009-to date) of SMRT Corporation Limited; Director of Keppel Corporation (Jul 1996); Deputy Chairman of the Singapore Totalisator Board (1996); Deputy Chairman (1994-2001) and later Chairman (Jul 2001-Mar 2007) of the Singapore Turf Club; CEO of the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (Sep 1992-1997); Chairman of the Public Accountants Board (1992-1996), Central Provident Fund Board (Jul 2005-to date), Singapore Island Country Club (Jan 2002-to date), and Singapore Pools (Private) Limited (2006); and non-resident High Commissioner to Canada (Jan 2008-to date).
