This is a picture of Mr. Neo Chwee Kok, national swimming champion, shaking hands with the first Prime Minister of India, Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru, as the latter paid homage to the Singapore's contingent during the First Asian Games held in New Delhi in 1950. Mr. Neo earned the honour of winning the first gold medal in the history of Asian Games. He also won four gold medals in the first Asian Games. [Error in publication: 1950].
