This photograph shows an elevated view of Penang Road and its surroundings as seen from a rooftop of a building in the foreground. It features buildings along Penang Road with the 13-storey Cockpit Hotel visible on the left. The hotel was on a site previously occupied by Hotel de L’Europe which was established in 1947. The new hotel building was completed in 1972 and was closed in 1997. The site has since been redeveloped into a condominium. This photograph is part of the Datuk Seri Lim Chong Keat Collection.
