This picture depicts a teacher conducting lesson at the field in front of Pei Hwa School (培华学校) on Pei Wah Avenue, off Bukit Timah Road 7½ milestone. Established in 1889 by Preacher Joseph Koh, the school was afffilated to Glory Presbyterian Church (荣耀堂). It was renamed "Pei Hwa School" in 1922 and later Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School in 1995. Title devised by Library staff.
