This is a family portrait of Mr. Syed Abdullah bin Haroon Aljunied (foreground right). He is President of the Al-Wehdah Al-Arabiah (Arab Association of Singapore) from 1984 to 1997. His family is the descendents of one of the first Arabs to come to the island after Raffles founded modern Singapore, Mr. Syed Mohammed Harun Aljunied and his nephew, Mr. Syed Omar Ali Aljunied. His grandfather, Mr. Syed Abdul Rahman bin Junied Aljunied founded Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah in 1927. Title devised by Library staff.
