This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Dr. Kanagaratnam Shanmugaratnam, the sixth Master of Academy of Medicine in Singapore from 1966 to 1968. He served as a pathologist in Singapore Government Medical Service (1948-1960); Head of Department of Pathology in University of Singapore (Dec 1960-1986); Dean of Faculty of Medicine at University of Singapore (1962-1964); and Senior Consultant (Histopathologist) in Department of Pathology at National University of Singapore. His son, Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, is a Singapore Cabinet Minister. Title devised by Library staff.
