This is the façade of the three-storey headquarters of St. John Ambulance Brigade at 420, Beach Road. The foundation stone was laid by Sir Robert Black, Governor of Singapore, on 23 November 1957. It was declared open by Mr. Yusof Ishak, Yang di-Pertuan Negara or Head of State, on 23 July 1960. Title devised by Library staff.
