President Wee Kim Wee presenting the Public Service Star (BBM) to Mr. Choo Siu Heng alias Choo Siew Heng (right), in 1985 National Day Awards for his contributions in community service. He was also conferred the Public Service Medal (PBM) in 1978. He was a bookshop proprietor at Ghim Moh Primary School; Chairman of PAP Ulu Pandan Branch (1973) and Ghim Moh Community Centre Management Committee (1977); Member (Jun 1973-Oct 1983) and later Vice-Chairman of Ulu Pandan Citizens' Consultative Committee (Nov 1983-Oct 1987); and Honorary Patron of Ulu Pandan Community Centre Management Committee (Mar 1982-Mar 1989). He was also awarded the Long Service Awards (10 years) from the Prime Minister's Office in 1983; and the Ministry of Community Development Awards (15 years) for community work in 1987.
