This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Mr. Alan Yeo Chee Yeow, Managing Director (1969-Jan 1995) and later Chairman of Yeo Hiap Seng Limited, a food and beverage firm, (1985-Jan 1995). He was Member of Economic Development Board (1964-1965); Deputy Chairman (1963-1966) and later Chairman of Singapore Telephone Board (1966-1969); President of Anglo-Chinese School Old Boys' Association (1970-1972); Chairman (1965) and later Honorary Chairman of Singapore Manufacturer's Association (1975-1981); Deputy Chairman (Apr 1985-1986) and later Chairman of Trade Development Board (Nov 1986-Dec 1994); Director of Keppel Bank (1993-1998), Neptune Orient Lines (Jun 1990-May 1997) and Jardine Cycle and Carriage Limited (Oct 1977-Apr 2008). He was conferred the Public Service Medal and the Public Service Star (Bar) by the Government of Singapore in 1969 and 1995 respectively. He also received the "Businessman of the Year" award in Singapore in 1987. He is the grandson of Mr. Yeo Keng Lian, who started a small soy sauce factory in Fujian Province of China in 1901.
