This is a picture of Mr. Wee Kheng Chiang (extreme left), the founder and Chairman of United Chinese Bank Limited, with his son (Wee Cho Yaw) and staff at the opening opening of the first bank branch at Beach Road. Second from left: Messrs. Wu Bichang, Kwa Choo Ping, Wee Cho Yaw, Lan Tian and Ho Cheow Hin. Established on 6 August 1935, the bank was renamed "United Overseas Bank" in 1965.
