This 2010 photograph shows the now vacant Queenstown Cinema and Bowling Centre along Commonwealth Avenue. During its prime in the late 1970s, this building housed a cinema, a bowling centre, a restaurant and even a private lounge. Queenstown Cinema was one of the first cinemas in Singapore to have soundproofing and its seats were arranged so that every patron could watch the movie without obstruction. Opened in 1977, it closed down in 1999. Title devised by Library staff.
