This picture depicts the front façade of the tall minaret and round onion dome of the three-storey Muhajirin Mosque (right) at 275 Braddell Road in Toa Payoh. On the left - the 7-storey Islamic Centre of Singapore, home of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore or MUIS (Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura) at 273 Braddell Road. The mosque was the first one built under the Mosque Building Fund scheme. The foundation stone was laid by Mr. Haji Buang bin Haji Siraj, President of the Muslim Religious Council, on 30 May 1976. The mosque was officially declared open by Mr. Othman Wok, Minister for Social Affairs, on 8 April 1977. Dr. Ahmad Mattar, Minister for the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, officially declared open the Islamic Centre on 29 May 1988. Title devised by Library staff.
