This is a head-and-shoulders portrait of Mr. Bernard Chen Tien Lap, Minister of State for Defence from May 1977 to April 1981. He was also Adviser of Union of Keppel Shipyard Employees of Singapore (Feb 1978-1980); General Manager of Fraser & Neave Group (1982-Aug 1991); People's Action Party Member of Parliament for Radin Mas (1977-1980), Clementi (1981-1988), Pasir Panjang GRC (1989-1991), Brickworks GRC (1991-1997) and West Coast GRC (1997-2001); Chairman of Board of Directors of NTUC Income (Nov 1977-Aug 1990); Chief Executive Officer (Sep 1991-Sep 2000) and later Director of Intraco Limited (1993-Sep 2000); and Director of Singapore Labour Foundation (Dec 1995-2007) and DBS Bank (Apr 1996-Apr 2005).
