This is a view of Thomson Road where the entrance of Kwong Wai Shiew Peck San Theng (广惠肇碧山亭), a Cantonese cemetery was located. The cemetery was established in 1871 by migrants from the Kwong Fu (广州府), Wai Chow Fu (惠州府) and Siew Heng Fu (肇庆府) of the Guangdong Province, China. The government acquired the burial ground in 1980 and transformed it into a striving housing estate known as Bishan. In return, the land owner, Singapore Kwong Wai Siew Peck San Theng is given lease for a piece of land at Kampong San Teng to accommodate an office block, two temples, a monument and a columbarium that are collectively known as "Kwong Wai Siew Peck San Theng".
