This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Dr. Chiang Hai Ding, Ambassador to the Soviet Union (1986-1989) with concurrent accreditation to Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary, Poland and Romania; succeeding Mr. Kemal Siddique, who served from 1984. He was History Lecturer at the National University of Singapore (1963-1971); High Commissioner to Malaysia (1971-1973); Manager at Citibank (1973-1978); Ambassador to West Germany (1978-1982) and Brussels, Belgium (May 1982-1986) with concurrent accreditation to the Holy See, the European Communities, Netherlands and Luxembourg; Ambassador to Egypt (1990-1994); Economic Advisor to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Neptune Orient Lines (1995-2002); Executive Director of Sage Counselling Centre (2001-2006); and People’s Action Party Member of Parliament for Ulu Pandan (1970-1984).
