This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Mr. Bai Yan (白言) in his younger days. The veteran Singaporean actor whose birth name is Yan Bo Yuan (阎伯元) has since retired from show business. He joined a song-and-dance performance troupe in his teens while in Hubei (China) and the troupe later toured Singapore in 1939. Title devised by Library staff.
