The early colonial bungalow - Balaclava - was built around 1880, and occupied by William George Hennings, head of Mansfield, and his family from the early 1900s. The gate pier which announced the entrance to the grounds, is seen along Dalvey Road although the house was demolished long ago. The road mentioned is in Dalvey Estate.
