This is the façade of the three-storey San Shan School (三山学校) at 107A, Sophia Road. The Chinese school was established in 1926 by a group of Foochow businessmen at Craig Road near Tanjong Pagar. It was closed three years later and reopens in 1946 at two different places: 20, Craig Road and 64, Queen Street. It moved to a new premises at Sophia Road in 1946 and became a fully Government aided school in 1957. In 1982, it was closed due to declining enrolment and became home to Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts between 1982 and 1996. Eventually, the premise was demolished to make way for North-East MRT line.
