Information About

This picture depicts the past and present emblems of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF). In 1968, Singapore Air Defence Command (later known as "Republic of Singapore Air Force" in April 1975) adopted the red-white-red roundel emblem. However, this was changed to the "yin-yang" emblem in 1973. In 1990, the RSAF adopted a red lion in a roundel as the new emblem. The roundel of the new emblem signifies unity of purpose; the lion as a symbol of courage, strength and resolve to overcome all obstacles; and the flowing lion's mane in five parts represent the national ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.
