Information About

The Buddha statue of Sakya Muni Buddha Gaya Temple weighing 300 tonnes and standing at 15-metres high 366, Race Course Road. The temple is also known as "Temple of a Thousand Lights". Founded in 1927 by Venerable Vutthisasara, a Thai monk, the temple was originally built with wood and zinc. A new temple was constructed later with donations from brothers Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par, both well-known philanthropists. Title devised by Library staff.
