This is a picture of Mr. Zubir Said (centre) with Messrs. Abdul Ghani Hamid (left) and Sulaiman Jeem at his home at 190A, Joo Chiat Place. He was the composer of "Majulah Singapura", the national anthem of Singapore, written in 1958. The two guests authored the book "Mengenang Pak Zubir" (In Memory of Pak Zubir), launched in August 1988 after his death on 16 November 1987 at the age of 80. Title devised by Library staff.
