This is a half-length portrait of Mr. Kwek Hong Lye (郭芳來), Managing Director of Hong Leong Company, seated in his office. He is Patron of MacPherson Citizens' Consultative Committee (1986); and Director of Hong Leong Finance Limited (1967-1996), Singapore Finance Limited (Mar 1979-1996) and City Developments Limited. His elder brother, Mr. Kwek Hong Png (郭芳枫), founded Hong Leong Company in 1941. Hong Lye's sons are Quek Leng Chan (郭令灿) (Managing Director of Hong Leong Group of Companies Malaysia), Quek Leng Chye (Managing Director of Hong Leong Holdings), Kwek Leng Hoe, Kwek Leng Hai (郭令海), Kwek Leng San (郭令山) and Kwek Leng Seng.
