This is a 1982 photograph depicting Neil Road at the corner of Duxton Road and the row of shophouses on both sides of it. The building depicted on the left of the photograph houses a two storey shop house with three bays of windows on the upper storey and a slate roof. The building (on the opposite of the road) is two- to three- storeys in height. Photograph depicts the side elevation of the building with its arched walls and the five foot ways running alongside of it. Neil Road was named after Colonel Neil of the Madras Fusiliers, an Indian Mutiny hero in 1857. Title devised by Library staff
