This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Madam Lim Poh Luan, the third president of International Girls' Brigade from 1978 to 1983. She was Member of Singapore People's Alliance Party Central Committee (1958) and People's Association Central Committee (1960-1963); Assistant Inspector of Schools at Ministry of Education (1969-1973); Chairman of Girls' Brigade, Singapore (1968-1973); Vice-President (1967-1972) and later President of Pacific Fellowship of Girls' Brigade (1973-1977). She was awarded the Efficiency Medal in 1972. Her brother, Reverend Peter Lim Seck Tiong, was Pastor of Barker Road Methodist Church (1956) and Wesley Methodist Church, Seremban (1962-1965); principal of Anglo-Chinese School, Seremban (1961-1965); and Acting Registrar of NUS (1983-1984).
