This is an elevated view of MacPherson housing estate with two rows of double-storey shophouses fronting a main street. In the background are blocks of high-rise Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats. The estate was completed between 1960 and 1964 during the five-year building programme of HDB. About 10,500 flats were built and a portion was sold under the “Home Ownership for the People Scheme”. Title devised by Library staff.
