This is a close-up of Associate Professor Bernard Tan Tiong Gie, Vice-Dean (1980-1985) and later Dean of Faculty of Science at National University of Singapore (NUS), who served from 1985 to 1996. He was Head of Department of Physics, NUS (1997-1998); Member of Governing Council of Singapore Institute of Management (2007-to date); and Chairman of Keppel Hitachi Zosen (1999-2000). His father, Mr. Henry Tan Hoay Gie, was President of Boys' Brigade (1970-1975) and Stedfast Club (1976-1983). Title devised by Library staff.
