A view of Singapore's first electric passenger lift in Winchester House at Collyer Quay. The lift was installed in 1906 by its owner, Loke Yew, a wealthy businessman and philanthropist in British Malaya. The building was demolished in 1989 together with the neighbouring Rubber House to make way for Hitachi Tower that was completed in 1992. TItle devised by Library staff.
