This picture depicts the front elevation of the memorial of the old Nanyang University in the centre of Yunnan Garden. It was built to mark the building of the university in 1955. It was unveiled by Sir William Goode, Governor of Singapore, on 29 March 1958. On 18 December 1998, the Preservation of Monuments Board gazetted the building as a national monument.
