This picture depicts some of the seven blocks of 12-storey two-room and three-room residential flats at Everton Park Estate near the junction of Cantonment Road and Neil Road. The white building at the far left is the Maritime Building at 120, Cantonment Road. The foundation stone of the estate was laid by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew on 1 June 1964. Built by Housing and Development Board for the staff of Singapore Harbour Board, the estate was declared open by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew on 8 November 1965. It was renovated in 1979 and re-allotted to the residents in April 1980. Title devised by Library staff.
