Information About

This is the façade of Alexandra Fire Station with its distinctive 164-foot high white squarish tower in Queenstown. It was officially declared open by Sir John Nicoll, Governor of Singapore, on 25 February 1954. In 2005, it made way for a seven-storey building which houses the fire station as well as headquarters of the first division of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). The building is also linked to the neighbouring Queenstown Neighbourhood Police Centre. Title devised by Library staff.
