Information About

This picture depicts a view of the grounds of Kwong Wai Siew Peck San Theng (广惠肇碧山亭), a Cantonese burial ground established in 1871 by migrants from the Kwong Fu (广州府), Wai Chow Fu (惠州府) and Siew Heng Fu (肇庆府) of the Guangdong Province in China. The government acquired the burial ground in 1980 and transformed it into a striving housing estate known as Bishan. In return, the land owner, Singapore Kwong Wai Siew Peck San Theng (新加坡广惠肇碧山亭) is given lease for a piece of land to accommodate an office block, two temples, a monument and a columbarium that are collectively known as "Kwong Wai Siew Peck San Theng". Title devised by Library staff.
