This is a view of the ward block of Thomson Road Hospital at Toa Payoh Rise, off Toa Payoh Road. It was declared open by Mr. Armand Joseph Braga, Minister for Health, on 19 May 1959. The hospital had two six-storey ward blocks, with four three-storey blocks and two four-storey blocks for staff quarters. In 1968, it was renamed "Thomson Road General Hospital" and subsequently in 1975 as "Toa Payoh Hospital". The hospital was closed down on 15 February 1997. Title devised by Library staff.
