This is a close-up of Mr. Nazir Ahmad Mallal, a prominent Indian lawyer, one of the founding members of Singapore Anti-Tuberculosis Association or SATA. He was President of Singapore Indian Association (1933-1934); Municipal Commissioner (1937-1947); Progressive Party (PP) Legislative Council election candidate for Municipal South-West (1948) and Legislative Assembly election candidate for Stamford (1955); and PP Member of Legislative Council for City ward (Apr 1951-1955). He was also co-founder of the law firm, Mallal & Namazie, founded in 1933. Title devised by Library staff.
