This is a view of Whampoa Secondary School (Chinese) as seen from its entrance at St. George Road. Established in 1961, the school was closed in 1994 due to dwindling enrolment. It was named after Mr. Whampoa Hoo Ah Kay, a successful businessman, who also served as the first Chinese member of the Singapore Legislative Council in 1867. Title devised by Library staff.
