In this revised second editio, the author have included techniques which are of special value to behavioral scientists. Some procedures have been replaced by newer techniques and the coverage of topics has been greatly expanded. In particular, the coverage of k-sample techniques (Chapters 7 and 8) has been expanded and there is a presentation of comparison procedures. Chapter 9 on measures of association has been expanded significantly. An extensive discussion of measurement scales is included in Chapter 3 as measurement does affect the interpretation of the data one obtains in research, and emphasis on scales helps researchers to make appropriate interpretations of their data. An added feature of this edition is the inclusion of computer program listings for some of the procedures in Appendix II.
