The two beginnings : a history of St. George’s Church, Tanglin

Information About

It is unusual for a church to have two beginnings, but such is the case with St. George's Church, Tanglin, Singapore. It began with the appointment of its first ordained minister on 23rd October, 1871. Exactly 100 years later almost to the day, on 25th October, 1971 St. George's had a second beginning with the handing over of the church to the Anglican Diocese of the Republic of Singapore at the time of the withdrawal of British Forces from the Tanglin Barracks.
