A view of the Bay of Bantam (Banten) with four ships. In 1596 a fleet of four ships led by Dutch explorer, Cornelis de Houtman reached the port of Bantam, the main pepper port of West Java. It was published in J. Isacius Pontanus's Rerum et urbis Amstelodamensium historia. -- Dealer's description.
